„Viel!“
Das fällt mir zu erst dazu ein.
Aber das war nicht die Frage.
Nun, ich war ziemlich faul die letzten Monate und habe es mir oft sehr einfach gemacht.
Am Anfang, so im Juni und auch noch im Juli, habe ich viele, viele PALOMAS getrunken.
Tequila, Pompelmo Limonade von Sanpellegrino und Limette.
So simpel wie ein Cuba Libre, nur viel geiler!
Animiert durch meine neu entdeckte Lust an vermeintlich popeligen Longdrinks, hielt ich mich den restlichen Sommer an den PIMM‘S CUP.
PIMM‘S CUP
5 cl Pimm’s No1
10 cl Zitronen Limonade
Orangen, Zitronen und Gurken Scheiben
Drink auf Eis im Glas bauen.
Mit Früchten und Gurke garnieren.
Hervorragender Durstlöscher, nicht zu süß, sondern eher herb, eine prima erwachsenen Limonade.
Man sollte nicht mit der Gurke sparen, sie gibt dem ganzen den speziellen Kick.
Wer genau hinschaut, auf dem Photo ist nix mit Gurke.
Hatte leider keine da, als ich diesen Post zusammen frickeln wollte.
Da empfiehlt es sich, Bitter Truth CUCUMBER Bitters im Haus zu haben.
Großartiges Produkt, ob im Gin Tonic, Martini Cocktail oder z.B. auch PIMM‘S CUP, das Zeug ist der Hammer.
Selbst wenn Gurke zur Hand ist, mit Gurke und Gurkenbitters ist es noch besser.
Oft ist zu lesen, Pimm’s sollte mit Ginger Ale oder sogar Cola gepanscht werden,
ist ja tatsächlich auch Geschmacksache, aber ich stehe auf Zitrone.
Säuerlich sollte es sein.
Meine Empfehlung ist Fritz Zitrone oder San Sanpellegrino Limonata.
Mit der Pompelmo Variante schmeckte es mir nicht.
Steht nur Sprite oder ähnliches zu Verfügung, empfehle ich, einen Zentiliter Zitrone mit ins Glas zu geben.
Neben der fehlenden Gurke, fällt auf dem Photo noch eine Flasche Averna ins Auge,
die dort eigentlich nichts zu suchen hat.
Dieser Drink schmeckt auch fantastisch, wenn Pimm’s durch Averna ersetzt wird.
Desgleichen mit Cynar oder Amaro Lucano.
Man könnte diese Aufzählung sicherlich fortführen, aber ich habe nur diese Amaro zur Hand.
Wichtig ist, wer den Pimm’s durch den Kräuterlikör seiner Wahl ersetzt, sollte das Mischungsverhältnis anpassen.
Im Falle von Averna gebe ich zwei Zentiliter mehr Limonade ins Glas.
Wie es auch gefällt, in jedem Fall geht die Geschichte runter wie Öl, nicht gleich zum Frühstück, aber so ab Mittag, die Sonne im Gesicht, kann man es sich schmecken lassen.
Denn dieser urenglische Drink fällt in die Kategorie „Low Octane“, wie Boris so sagen würde, wenn er zwischen Brexit und Wildschwein in Minze Soße mal Pause macht, auf seinem frisch getrimmten Rasen sitzt und im strömenden Regen statt lau warmen Bier, einen Pimm’s Cup trinkt, während er dem untergegangenen Empire hinterher weint.
Ich schweife ab …
Letztlich auch ein prima Drink, um mit meiner Frau und diversen, oft weiblichen Gästen mitzuhalten.
Während ich normalerweise knackigen Whiskey Sours oder ähnlichem fröne, nippen die Damen gerne an diesem oder jenem Gläschen Wein oder vielleicht auch an dem einen oder anderen Cremant …
Alle sind fröhlich beschwipst und ich schon knülle, bereit um 4 Uhr nachmittags irgendeinen verdammten Krawall anzuzetteln, oder unwesentlich später im Körbchen unseres Labrador Mischlings Toni ein ausgedehntes Nickerchen zu machen …
